His Excellency Mr Navdeep Suri Consular General of India opened the exhibition with Siyabonga Gama, CEO of Transnet. The ambassador highlighted India’s interest and investment into Africa, with an expanding presence for 2009

The 1st annual Africa Rail Awards was a fantastic success where top performers in Africa were recongnised.

Complimentary seminars held in the exhibition area were well attended, with exciting product launches, and Transnet Freight Rail hosting a dedicated session on "how to do business with them”
